Story for Kids: Once upon a time on the day of Christmas Eve in a small village of Russia. an old shoemaker called Papa Panov stepped outside his shop to take one last look around lights, had begun to appear in the shops, and houses and the short winter day was nearly over-excited children scurried indoors, and now only muffled sounds of chatter and laughter escaped from closed shutters. the faint but delicious smells of Christmas cooking reminded him of past Christmas times. when his wife had still been alive and his own children were little and with him now.

They had gone away to the cities his usually cheerful face looked sad now. with a heavy heart, he pulled the shutters and went inside his house. he set a pot of coffee to heat on the charcoal stove and with a sigh settled in his big armchair. Papa Panov did not often read but tonight he pulled down the big old family Bible, and slowly tracing the lines with one forefinger he read again the Christmas story Mary, and Joseph, walked hand-in-hand and soon they were in Bethlehem they were tired but found no place to rest.

St Mary's little baby was born in cowshed oh dear if only they had come here. I would have given them my bed and covered the baby with my quilt instead. and then came to the three kings looking for him carrying. with them splendid gifts little baby Jesus was born in this world. and together they welcomed the King of Kings saddened Papa Panov put down, the Bible oh I have no gift that I could give him suddenly his face brightened. I have just the right thing yes they are as good as I remember I should give them rose saying that.

He gently put them away and sat down again. he was feeling tired now and the further he read the sleepier he became the print began to dance before his eyes. so that he closed them just for a minute in no time at all Papa Panov was fast asleep you have been wishing that you could see me POP pan off tell you what look for me tomorrow it will be Christmas Day. and I will visit you but look carefully for I shall not tell you who I am waiting and with a startled Papa Panov woke up from his sleep the bells were ringing out and a thin light was filtering through the curtains bless. my soul this Christmas day.

He stood up and stretched himself for he was rather stiff when his sight went towards the clock it was only 4:00 in the morning. what I am up so early suddenly he heard a sound coming from the outside and his face filled with happiness as he remembered his dream my dream yes my dream. Wow this would be a very special Christmas, after all for Jesus is coming to visit me but how would you only be a little baby as that first Christmas would he be a grown man a carpenter, or the great king that he is I must watch carefully. the whole day so that I recognize him. however, he came Papa Panov at once slid open the curtains and opened the window.

The street was deserted except for the road speaker it is the road sweeper. but why is he working on Christmas Day, in this rock called bitter freezing mist, not a morning? Hey, come in come in have some hot coffee to keep out of the cold the sweeper looked up scarcely. able to believe his ears he was only too glad to put down his food and come into the warm room. he clasped both his red cold hands round the comforting warm mug as he drank. this is the expecting someone yes Papa Panov told him all about his dream and how he was waiting for Jesus to come well I hope he comes you've given me a bit of Christmas cheer I never expected to have I'd say you deserve to have your dream come true.

This made Papa Panov smile the road sweeper finished his coffee and left Papa Panov house filled with warmth and happiness after some time Papa Panov, started to cook up some delicious hot cabbage soup and would always keep going to the window to look out for his expectant visitor but as he looked out. he saw a young woman whose face was almost as pale as the snow she was holding a baby wrapped tightly in thin blankets my goodness. how can someone be roaming out there in the cold and the poor baby I must call her in hey excuse me, young woman yeah what please, please come into my house and warm yourself the fire will really help your baby too.

The poor woman was in such disbelief. that tears welled in her eyes oh thank you, kind sir, she let him lead her to his warm fireplace. as she sat there her little baby started to gurgle. oh, how adorable let me warm up some milk for her. oh, and you don't have to worry I'll feed her too is I've had young ones of my own Papa Panov warmed and brought. the milk and carefully fed it to the baby with a spoon but as he did he noticed the baby's feet had turned a slight blue because of the cold. she needs a shoes very badly a - I don't have the money for that and I'm on my way to the next village to find a job there isn't anything I can do pop a pan of thought for a while and remembered the little shoes he had seen last night but those shoes for Jesus but as he saw the little babies frostbitten feet.

He at once made his decision yeah you can have these oh look how perfectly. they fit her well she seems happy the little baby girl kicked her legs around in glee. jus have been so kind to us may all your Christmas wishes come true as the lady enjoyed. the warm soup he looked anxiously up and down the street there were plenty of people about but they were all faces that he recognized there were neighbors going to call on their families. they nodded and smiled and wished him Merry Christmas. when the soup was done with and the baby was better the woman thanked Papa Panov once again and then left have a Merry Christmas. while at the door Papa Panov saw a beggar walking in the freezing cold he immediately hurried indoors to fetch some hot soup and a generous hunk of bread. then he hurried out and gave it to the beggar was delighted he thanked him and left Papa Panov smiled and went back indoors and soon.

The winter dusk fell Papa Panov stood by his window. but could no longer make out the passers-by 'he's most were home and indoors dejected he walked back to his armchair and sat back wearily. so it was just a dream after all suddenly there appeared before him. the old road sweeper the young mother with her baby and the beggar didn't you see me Papa Panov. what I don't understand and then another voice answered him. it was the voice from his dream the voice of Jesus I was hungry and you fed me I was helpless and barefoot you fed me and covered. my feet with cozy shoes I was so cold and tired I didn't know anyone would notice me but you did and you gave me such happiness. I came as all three and you noticed helped and loved us equally. Thank You, Papa Panov could not believe his eyes and his ears he was overwhelmed with joy.

Then all was quiet and still, only the sound of the big clock ticking a great peace and happiness seemed to fill the room overflowing Papa Panov heart. until he wanted to burst out singing and laughing and dancing with joy we wish you a Merry Christmas we wish you a Merry Christmas, and thus Papa Panov generosity had made his Christmas marry, after all no matter who a person may be treating anyone and everyone with all the kindness. you can offer is what really makes the world a good one no matter the religion God resides in all the main thing we must do is love everyone dearly and equally...
